The portrait is my calling. When painting in Oil, I try to capture the energy within my subjects while also paying tribute to them as people. Some of these subjects are known to me, and others have graciously allowed me to photograph them, and then paint them from photos. Events that take place in society also move me to find people to serve as models of inspiration, so I can express my reactions to life's many changing events.

After many drawings in pen and pencil, I apply the oil paint. I rely on my intuition to guide me through the process of completing my work. I received a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, 1976.
